Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice,

we pray for the people of Ukraine today.

We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.

We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,

that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.

We pray for those with power over war or peace,

for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.

Above all, we pray for your precious children, at risk and in fear,

that you would hold and protect them.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen

from the Archbishops of Canterbury & York

Prayer for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

The General Synod Office has circulated the following prayer, approved by College of Bishops, to mark this occasion:

Prayer for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Almighty and eternal God,

you uphold and govern all things

both in heaven and on earth,

and by your grace alone kings and queens do reign.

We thank you for all the blessings which you have bestowed upon us

throughout the reign of our sovereign lady, Queen Elizabeth,

whom you have set over us these threescore years and ten.

We thank you for the wisdom of her guidance and her love of peace,

for the care and devotion with which she has served her people,

for the example of her gracious life.

As we rejoice before you with thankful hearts,

we pray that we may ever be united in love and service to one another,

as people called to live according to your will,

for the good of all the world,

and the glory of your great name,

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

All Souls Day

Tuesday 2nd November at 6.00p.m.

SERVICE for ALL SOULS DAY

In St Mary’s Episcopal Church, Market Street, Ullapool

All Welcome

All Souls is the day on which the church remembers all who have died, especially family and friends. We extend an invitation to all members of the congregations in the charge and to members of our communities to let us know of any people you would like to be remembered by name at this service. This can be anyone whose memory is important to you, they do not need to have connection with the church or this area, or to have died recently; you do not need to be a member of one of our congregations or attending the service. For further information or to contribute names, please contact the priest-in-charge.
