The Word This Week – 6th July

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This Sunday is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. This Sunday and next, there will be a service in Ullapool.

Looking ahead into July, on Monday 14th July the monthly Bible study group will meet at 5.00 pm at Joy’s house to continue the series of studies on Prayer. On Sunday 20th July, we welcome Ven John Green to preach at our services in Ullapool and Achiltibuie. And from 26th-28th July, Anne Macdonald, our curate-to-be, will be visiting the charge and attending our services in Kinlochbervie, Ullapool and Lochinver. Although there is not a service in Achiltibuie that weekend, I hope that we might be able to come over there sometime that weekend so that some of that congregation will also be able to meet her.

Having recently re-advertised the date, I am sorry to say that the Environmental Study day on Saturday 30th August is having to be postponed. Unfortunately, The Ullapool Flower & Produce Show, previously advertised as being on 23rd August, is now going to be on 30th. To have our event on the same day would cause a conflict of interest for many of our own congregation as well as for others from the village who might come. Our guest speaker, Rev’d David Coleman from EcoCongregation Scotland, is not available before Christmas, so we plan to re-arrange this event for a Saturday in the early spring. I will let you know the date as soon as something is organised.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
