Dear Friends in the Northwest
This week is the thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the first Sunday in the Season of Creation. This Sunday and next, there will be services in Ullapool.
As I mentioned last week, the Season of Creation, which began on Thursday with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, runs until the Feast of St Francis on 4th October. This year’s theme for this global ecumenical initiative is Listen to the Voice of Creation. As Christians, in this season, we are called to lament those peoples, species and habitats who are lost or whose existence is threatened, particularly by climate change, and in prayer and action to care for our common home so that our lives proclaim the Good News for all the Earth.
On 20th November, Bishop Mark will be coming to Ullapool for baptism and confirmation, and also visiting the congregation at Achiltibuie. If anyone, in any of our congregations, has not been baptised or confirmed and would like to consider this, or who has perhaps joined the Scottish Episcopal Church from another denomination or come back to the church after a time away and would like to re-affirm their faith, please do speak to me.
With love and prayers
Rev’d Clare
