Dear Friends in the Northwest
This Sunday we are keeping the Feast of The Presentation of the Lord or Candlemas which, this year, was on Friday. Next Sunday is the Sunday before Lent. This Sunday and next, there will be a service in Ullapool.
The next meeting of the monthly Bible Study group is on Monday 12th February at 5.00 pm at Joy’s house. We have started a new series of studies looking at the Holy Spirit.
Easter is quite early this year (31st March), so also the beginning of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, 14th February, there will be services of Holy Eucharist with imposition of ashes in St Mary’s at 11.00 am and 6.00 pm. If you have your palm cross from last year and would like me to burn it for this year’s ashes, please give it to me by Sunday 11th February.
On Shrove Tuesday, 13th February, St Mary’s will be holding a Pancake Party and Angel Drive (like a beetle drive but angels) starting at 5.00pm. Do come to join us if you are able to do so – we had a lot of fun last year!
The next Green Screen film is on Thursday 15th February at 7.30 pm at the Ferry Terminal. Entry is free. Please come and bring your friends (and a cushion and refreshments!). Further details in the Notices section of this website.
