The Word This Week – 3rd September

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This Sunday is the fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the first in the Season of Creation, which runs from the beginning of September to the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on 4th October. My thanks to Fr David Higgon who has provided this week’s reflection. This Sunday, there will be the usual service in Ullapool in the morning followed later by sung Evensong at 5.30 p.m. Next week, there will be the usual morning service in Ullapool.

The reflective walk is planned Saturday 9th September at 2.30 p.m., meeting the All-Abilities Path Leitir Easaidh car park on the north side of the A837 (grid ref. NC172262). This will be a very gentle walk with time to look around, appreciate the beauty around us and relate it to our lives and faith. I suggest that we each bring a picnic chair, something to drink and some food to share (not too much!) so that we can enjoy each other’s company over a picnic afterwards. To clarify, it is not my intention that we should carry chairs and picnic on the walk itself! The reserve date, in case of poor weather will be Saturday 30th September. If you intend to come, it would be helpful if you would let me know so that, if the weather is such that I decide to postpone, I can let you know.

The next meeting of the monthly Bible study group, looking at Parables, will be on Monday 11th September at 5.00p.m. at Joy’s house.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
