The Word This Week – 30th October

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This Sunday is All Saints Sunday, the Feast of All Saints falling on Tuesday 1st November. My thanks to Fr David for providing this week’s reflection. This Sunday and next, there will be a service in Ullapool. Advance notice that on Sunday 13th November, Remembrance Sunday, the service in Ullapool will be a said service at 9.00a.m. prior to the Service of Remembrance at the Church of Scotland. On Sunday 20th November, Bishop Mark will be preaching and presiding at our services in Ullapool, at which Silas and Caleb Brown will be baptised, and in Achiltibuie.

I am now away until Friday 11th November on holiday and then retreat. Fr David will be taking services in Ullapool and providing emergency pastoral cover for the Ullapool and Achiltibuie congregations. Fr John Green will provide emergency pastoral cover for the Lochinver and Kinlochbervie congregations.

On Wednesday 2nd November, the Feast of All Souls, there will be a service in St Mary’s Ullapool at 11.00a.m. at which we will remember all the faithful departed, and especially family and friends.

On Saturday 19th November, we have the study day at St Mary’s, Ullapool with Bishop Rob Hardwick, beginning at 10 a.m. with refreshments and finishing mid-afternoon. If you would like to attend, please confirm that to me by email or leave a phone message if you have not already done so (space in St Mary’s is somewhat limited and this event is also open to the other congregations in the village). Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided, as will soup at lunchtime, but please bring your own sandwich. If you have any dietary requirements, please let me know.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
