The Word This Week – 29th March

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the sixth Sunday in Lent. This weekend, there will be a service in Kinlochbervie on Saturday and services in Ullapool and at Inchnadamph Old Kirk on Sunday. Don’t forget that the clocks go forward this weekend!

The full list of services for Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter can be found in the News and Notices section of this website. I look forward to seeing many of you at some of these services and wish you all a blessed Holy Week as we make time to remember the events of our Lord’s Passion.

In addition, as already circulated by email, the Bishop has called for a day of reflection and prayer for the Middle East on Tuesday 31st March. St Mary’s Ullapool will be open from 10 am – 6 pm for people to drop in for private prayer and there will be a short led time of reflection and prayer at 12.30 pm. for all who are able to join us.

A reminder that the Bishop’s Lent Appeal this year will go to the Episcopal Church in The Philippines to help the church support the community who live by scavenging on the Sitio Pintor rubbish dump in Manila, a site visited by Bishop Mark. Contributions should be placed in an envelope marked ‘Bishop’s Lent Appeal’, and either handed to me or placed in the Offering Basket at one of our services, preferably by Easter.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
