Dear Friends in the Northwest
This Sunday is the eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the fourth Sunday in the Season of Creation. This weekend, there will be a service in Kinlochbervie on Saturday and services in Ullapool and Lochinver on Sunday. At Kinlochbervie and Lochinver, we will be keeping Harvest Festival. Next Sunday, 4th October, which is also the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, we will be keeping Harvest Festival in Ullapool; the service will be followed by a bring and share lunch.
The Highland Foodbank have particularly requested the following items in harvest collections this year: tinned ham, UHT milk, long-life juice, tinned meat (mince, stew etc.), tinned fruit, crackers/oatcakes, washing up liquid, toiletries, carrier bags.
As previously mentioned, the Diocesan Mission Conference will take place on Saturday 24th October from 11 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. at Inverness Cathedral. Anne will be attending. If anyone would like to accompany her, please let us know.
I will be on holiday from Monday 5th October to Tuesday 20th October inclusive. In my absence, Rev’d David Higgon and Rev’d Anne Macdonald will take services in Ullapool and Achiltibuie. David will be available to provide emergency pastoral care for the Ullapool and Achiltibuie congregations. Ven John Green will provide emergency pastoral cover for the Lochinver and Kinlochbervie congregations.
