The Word This week – 26th April

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This is the fourth Sunday of Easter. This weekend, there will be a service in Kinlochbervie on Saturday, and services in Ullapool and Lochinver on Sunday. Next weekend, there will be service in Ullapool on Sunday.

If you are in Ullapool or not too far away, I would like to draw your attention to the next Starling Café in the Macphail Centre on Thursday 30th April. The theme for this session is ‘Making and remaking home in times of change’ led by Azadeh Fatehrad who will be considering what home means for us and how we might think about it differently in these times of change in the world. For more information and to book a place (entry is free but donations are appreciated) go to: https://tickets.highlifehighland.com/events/highlifehighland/2148472

Looking ahead, and owing to my mistake, the next meeting of the monthly Bible Study Group will be on Monday 18th May (and not on Monday 11th May).

Ascension Day is on Thursday 14th May; there will be a service in St Mary’s Ullapool at 11.00 a.m.

As previously notified, I will be on holiday from the evening of Sunday 26th April through to and including Monday 4th May, and I will be at a meeting in Inverness on Tuesday 5th May so won’t be back in Ullapool until that evening. While I am away, Rev’d Anne Macdonald will take the Wednesday service in Ullapool. Rev’d David Higgon will take the Sunday service in Ullapool and will also be available if there are any pastoral emergencies on or after Thursday 30th April. If you are unable to get hold of him, or if something arises before Thursday, please call me on my mobile number as usual.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
