Dear Friends in the Northwest
This weekend, we will be keeping Bible Sunday. The service at Kinlochbervie has moved to the winter time of 12 noon on the fourth Saturday of the month at the Ceilidh House. On Sunday, there will be services in Ullapool and Lochinver (The Assynt Centre) at the usual times. Next Sunday, there will be a service in Ullapool.
A reminder that I will be away from Monday 24th October to Friday 11th November on holiday and then retreat. Fr David will be taking services in Ullapool and providing emergency pastoral cover for the Ullapool and Achiltibuie congregations. Fr John Green will provide emergency pastoral cover for the Lochinver and Kinlochbervie congregations.
On Wednesday 2nd October, the Feast of All Souls, there will be a service in St Mary’s Ullapool at 11.00a.m. at which we will remember all the faithful departed, and especially family and friends. If anyone still has any names to add to the list of those to be remembered at this service, please let me know by return (preferably) or contact Fr David.
On Saturday 19th November, we have the study day at St Mary’s, Ullapool with Bishop Rob Hardwick, beginning at 10 a.m. with refreshments and finishing mid-afternoon. If you would like to attend, please confirm that to me if you have not already done so (space in St Mary’s is somewhat limited and this event is also open to the other congregations in the village). Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided, as will soup at lunchtime, but please bring your own sandwich. If you have any dietary requirements, please let me know.
I have been notified that the Third Order of St Francis in association with the Community of the Cross of Nails are hosting a Service of Reconciliation, Peace and Justice in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Inverness on Thursday 27th October at 1pm. Everyone is warmly invited and if you wish to attend, it would be helpful if you could let the Rev’d Dr. Hamilton Inbadas know by e mail on clergy so that they have an idea of numbers.
With love and prayers
Rev’d Clare
