The Word This Week – 1st October

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This week, our newsletter readings and reflection are those for Harvest Thanksgiving. We will be keeping Harvest Thanksgiving in Ullapool this Sunday when the service will be followed by a bring and share lunch. Thank you to members of the congregations at Achiltibuie, Lochinver and Kinlochbervie for their generous harvest donations over the last two Sundays for the Highland Foodbank. Together with the donations from Ullapool, these will be transported on to the Foodbank this week.

Next Sunday, there will be a service in Ullapool. There will be a special collection at this service for the Christian Aid Libya Floods Appeal.

The next meeting of the monthly Bible study group, looking at Parables, is on Monday 9th October at 5.00p.m. This will be at Elmasd’s house (57 St Valery Place) – please note the change of venue.

Green Screen is returning to Ullapool this autumn. It begins with My Octopus Teacher on 12th October at 7.30 pm at the Ferry Terminal. Entry is free; there will be a donation box for Ullapool Sea Savers Please come and bring your friends (and a cushion and refreshments!). Further details in the Notices section of this website.

As previously intimated, I will be on holiday from Tuesday 3rd to Monday 16th October. In my absence, Fr David Higgon will be taking the services in Ullapool and Achiltibuie and will provide any necessary pastoral cover. My thanks to him for this support.

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
