The Word This Week – 14th April

Dear Friends in the Northwest

This Sunday is the third Sunday of Easter. This Sunday, there will be a service in Ullapool. Next Sunday, there will be services in Ullapool and Achiltibuie.

A reminder that the Bishop’s Lent Appeal this year is supporting communities in South Sudan and specifically the development of facilities at the Bishop Nathaniel Garang Training Centre. I should be grateful if any remaining contributions could be handed or sent to me by this Sunday. If you have a donation but cannot get it to me by then, please let me know. Thank you to those who have already contributed.

Bryn Higgs from Ullapool heads off to Palestine this weekend to volunteer as a human rights monitor for a month. Please hold Bryn, and the people of Palestine and Israel, in your prayers.

Looking ahead, I am proposing that we have another Reflective Walk on Saturday 25th May at the All Abilities Path in Assynt when I hope that weather might be better than last September. As the name implies, the path is very accessible and has the advantage of being located centrally in our area. If you are thinking of coming along, let me know beforehand so I can let you know if we decide to postpone (even though I didn’t get that call right last time ☹).

With love and prayers

Rev’d Clare
