Dear Friends in the Northwest
This Sunday is the Sunday before Lent; there will a service in Ullapool. On Wednesday, it being Ash Wednesday, there will be services of Holy Eucharist with imposition of ashes at 11.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. in Ullapool. Next Sunday, the first Sunday in Lent, there will be services in Ullapool and Achiltibuie.
It’s a busy week ahead: the next meeting of the monthly Bible Study group is on Monday at 5.00 pm at Joy’s house (51 St Valery Place). We have started a new series of studies looking at the Holy Spirit.
On Tuesday, St Mary’s will be holding a Pancake Party and Angel Drive (like a beetle drive but angels) starting at 5.00pm. Do come to join us if you are able to do so – we had a lot of fun last year!
The next Green Screen film is on Thursday at 7.30 pm at the Ferry Terminal. Entry is free. Please come and bring your friends (and a cushion and refreshments!). Further details in the Notices section of this website.
Our Lent course this year, entitled A Christian Look at the Environment, comes from The John Rae Initiative. We will be meeting on Sundays 18th and 25th February, 3rd, 10th and 17th March at 11.30 a.m. in St Mary’s. This time seemed to work quite well for people last year and there will be time for the usual gathering for refreshments after the morning service before we start. We will finish by 12.30 p.m. If you are unable to attend but would like to receive the materials, please let me know.
With love and prayers
Rev’d Clare
