Dear Friends in the Northwest
This week is the sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the fourth Sunday in the Season of Creation. This Sunday, there will be services in Ullapool, Lochinver (Assynt Centre) and Kinlochbervie (Village Hall). We will be keeping Harvest Festival in Lochinver and Kinlochbervie this Sunday. Harvest will be kept in Ullapool on Sunday 2nd October when the service will be followed by a bring and share lunch, and in Achiltibuie on Sunday 16th October.
I have emailed members of each congregation with the arrangements for harvest donations but please do contact me if you are uncertain, although I am sure we will be able to find a good home for most things.
In this Season of Creation, you may be interested in the latest campaign from Christian Aid to which Fr David kindly drew my attention. ‘Loss and Damage: Rise Up, Pay Up’ reminds us that the people who have done the least to cause the climate crisis are dealing with damage to harvests and homes, right now. They are losing their lives, land and culture, right now. It calls for polluters to pay up to repair what’s damaged by the climate crisis by the creation of an international fund. More information is available at https://www.christianaid.org.uk/get-involved-campaigns/climate-change/loss-and-damage-landing-page.
With love and prayers
Rev’d Clare
