I moved from Pudsey, West Yorkshire to Ullapool in 2014 to be nearer my family. Involvement in church has always been an important part of my life. For 20 years, I was sacristan and verger at Calverley Parish Church and then at Pudsey Parish Church, a job which I found very fulfilling. On moving to Ullapool, it was heart-warming to find a welcome from the clergy and congregation of St Mary’s. Since joining the church, I have become the sacristan, have been elected a member of the Vestry and, for the past 4 years, have been the Lay Representative of the congregation to the Diocesan Synod.
