Dear Friends in the Northwest
This week is the ninth Sunday after Pentecost. This Sunday and next, there will be a service in Ullapool. Next Sunday in Ullapool we will be keeping our patronal festival, the Feast of St Mary the Virgin, which is on 15th August. There will be a bring-and-share lunch after the service.
As I have mentioned to at least some of you previously, the College of Bishops designated 2021-22 as a Season of Pilgrimage. In this Season, already well-advanced, we are encouraged to undertake a ‘holy journey’ of some kind. In connection with this, I have prepared some materials on this theme for reflection. These are currently being printed and will be available at services later in the month for anyone who would like a copy. If you are unable to attend a service and would like one, please let me know and I can post it out. I am also planning a reflective walk for anyone who would like to participate. This will be on the afternoon of Saturday 3rd September at Lael Forest, with a reserve date of Saturday 10th September if the weather is too awful on 3rd. More details nearer the time. If you plan to come, it would be an idea to let me know in case it is decided to go for the later date, but this is not essential. If people are interested, I could also organise a similar walk further north later in September. Again, please let me know if you are interested.
With love and prayers
