Dear Friends in the Northwest,
Today is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost and also the first Sunday in the Season of Creation. This Sunday and next, there will be a service in Ullapool.
In connection with the Season of Creation and concern for the environment, it was drawn to my attention this week that the supermarket in Ullapool has started ‘Soft Plastic’ recycling – things such as, but not limited to, plastic film, salad, fruit and bread bags, crisp packets and sweet wrappers. Most of this is to be recycled into new packaging (trials suggest about 80%) and the rest used for energy generation. Whilst the best environmental option is to limit our consumption of plastic packaging as much as possible, it is good to see an initiative to recycle more of our waste.
If you use email, please note that I have a new email address (see above) which I intend to use for most church business. I am in the process of moving over to it. I’d be grateful if you could update your records. Many thanks to Fr John Green, our webmaster, for setting this up for me.
With love and prayers,
